I can live without fancy menus, and dont mind an encoding time of 30 mins for a dvd (plus rip time). This includes my DVD collection.īasicly i dont want to work too hard to rip a dvd to pc, but idealy want to keep the subtitle on/off option (for family that is hard of hearing) and keep alternative sound tracks (commentary). ![]() ![]() I have given up burning video to DVD in preference to keeping it all on a 2T hard drive and playing it back via PC. #29 - the whole video conversion thing is sure a complex maze of options - I thought 720x480 or maybe a bit higher for PAL 720x576 is the limit of what a standard DVD puts out? - so encoding a DVD at higher res would be pointless? - as my TV can upscale input video to 1920x1080 for a big HD screen? ![]() Re DVD shrink, i have it, but isnt the codec on it pretty old, or can you force it to use other codecs?
